Mountain Meditation

Greens, browns, grey, and sometimes blue. Clouds overhead hinting at a shower, never to materialize. Air temperature perfect. Birds chirping in the trees. A mighty river at summer’s low ebb rustles over smooth stones and basalt bedrock nearby.

Many bridges to cross in life, directions to choose.

Beauty is everywhere, if you slow down, stop the endless chatter of the monkey mind that jumps from thought to thought. Be here now.

Good day little buddy.

A fine day to lay in the grass. But soon the snake will eat my friend the toad. I seek to develop compassion for them both.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” Henry David Thoreau

Mushroom heaven…though I’m not sure which ones are edible!

Thimble berry. Definitely edible. Sweetest of all.

*

Many obstacles in life, like downed trees across the path. Go around? Or up and over? Be careful not to follow the reckless footsteps of those who have wandered astray.

*

Birth and death go hand and hand.

Bridge building 101.

My bridge will be gone in a month or two at most. This one may linger a century.

*

Blissed and blessed. But umm…no wonder my right shoulder was so sore that day. Note to self – check evenness of chest strap.

Awaken!

Water is life. Drink it all in as often as you can.

Many problems of body and mind can be solved by taking a good long walk. Let the Chi flow. Dissolve the solid image of who you thought you were and discover your unlimited inner potential.

“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour” William Blake

More worlds within worlds

Did I see this one already? Oh, look again. change in every moment.
